If you are planning to generate and download more than about 10-20Gb of catalogues we recommend that you download the model and generate the catalogues offline.
Downloading the models gives you increased flexibility, for example to write for example you own selection function, or vary the age or metallicity distributions from their default values.
It also avoids me paying a transfer cost of $0.09/Gb for the downloaded catalogues!
As with Galaxia, data is stored in a folder specified at compile time using datadir. If you have already installed galaxia you can use your existing folder. If not you should download and unzip this folder from here.
Installation follows the same process as Galaxia:

./configure --datadir=[path to GalaxiaData]
sudo make install
Isochrones are from the Padova database by Leo Giraldi. You should choose which systems you would like in the drop down below to get a link to the zipped isochrone files.
You should download the models you wish to sample from using form below.
The models are in ebf format with columns:
x,v,mass,feh,age,fe_h,age_h. The particles are given a Gaussian distribution in
log-age and [Fe/H]. The columns
age_h are the standard
deviation of these Gaussians in dex. To save disk space, only star particles are included in
The second file contains smoothing lengths computed using Enbid. The first time a star is picked from an N-body particle the original coordinates are used if possible. When stars are subsequently picked from that particle new coordinates are chosen from within these smoothing lengths in position and velocity of the original particle. The process is the same as described in the Galaxia paper ( section 2.4).
To generate mock catalogues from the models you run:
parameterfile --nbodyfile=[path to your model ebf file]
You can download an example parameter file here. This example assumes you have already downloaded the GAIA DR2 isochrones. The parameter file format is almost the same as normal for galaxia, just the solar position and velocity have been added. This is because the models have a slightly different solar velocity and Galactocentric position.
